Hi y’all! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. Yesterday, we went to the Atlanta United soccer game! We had such a good time, and it was such a fun atmosphere. Today, we laid low and spent the day preparing for the week. We had some unexpected visitors when our neighbor’s horses got out, so that was really exciting! We were able to call the owners and get the two horses back in their barn safely!
I have really been wanted to reveal a new space in our home. I feel like its been a while since I have shared a brand new part about our home renovation journey. Honestly, we are still trying to get some finishing touches in most of the rooms, so it has been difficult to figure out what to share each week. With this said, I figured it would be nice to share a sneak peek of our master bathroom renovation. The bathroom as a whole is not completely done because we are missing trim and flooring in our closet area, so I thought it would be better just to share a small part of it!
Alright, so here is how it all began…we started off with our master bedroom on the main floor of our home. A goal we had during our renovation was to somehow create a master bedroom and bathroom upstairs, so we could be closer to our kids (also so we could expand our galley style kitchen). We decided to take what was our son’s room and turn it into our bedroom and expand his closet into what was an adjoining spare office space. We were pretty limited in what we could do originally because of the dormers and low sloping roof-line. To solve this problem, we created one large gable that spanned the three dormers. In turn, this created 11 foot ceilings in our master bathroom that we absolutely love. We have so much natural light, and we couldn’t be happier with how things turned out.
Ultimately, I wanted to have built in cabinets, but we were at the end of our renovation, and had no more room left in our budget. Thank goodness for Wayfair! I found an amazing deal on a beautiful vanity. Currently, it is on sale for 57% off, making it $1,288.00. It has a marble top, soft close drawers, and is 72 inches in length (it comes completely assembled). We paired it with polished chrome faucets from Home Depot, and a couple arched decorative mirrors. We put sconces on either side of each mirror. I definitely recommend doing this to add some extra light while getting ready. Our vintage distressed rug is from Target. It is currently on sale for $42! To add a little texture, I also put down a white faux fur rug. Over in the corner of my bathroom, I put a little marble top accent table and also a full length mirror. I will link all the different decorative items as well as the furniture and rugs below. Please let me know if you have any questions!
